Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith includes our mission statement, and a statement of identity and inclusion. It voices our commitment to be both an Open and Affirming congregation of The United Church of Christ and a Reconciling congregation of The United Methodist Church. This is who we are, who God is calling us to be, and how we are guided to love and serve alongside all people.

United Community Church of Morrisville Statement of Faith

We are an inclusive faith community guided by the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. Through ministry, prayer, and service we strive to serve and support the humanitarian and spiritual needs of our communities.

Whoever you are and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome to receive without obligation and participate fully in the ministries, life, and leadership of our faith community.

We commit to ongoing learning and growing as an Open and Affirming Congregation of The United Church of Christ and a Reconciling Congregation of The United Methodist Church. This covenant is lived out in our policies of open membership, calling/receiving pastors, welcoming all couples to celebrate weddings, safe and welcoming use of our buildings, and more.

We believe that God creates all living things with dignity and sacred worth. In faithfulness to the example of Jesus and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we welcome, respect, and nurture all people— people of every age, race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation; people of every gender, gender identity, and socioeconomic condition; people who are refugees, immigrants and long-time neighbors; people of all physical and mental abilities; people with all household compositions, and all stages on the journey toward sobriety and wellness; people of diverse political and theological beliefs—all created with dignity and sacred worth.
