Breakfast on Us
One of our most beloved local ministries, Breakfast on Us is a FREE breakfast offered to the community. Breakfast on Us is open five days a week (Monday – Friday) 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the church Dining Room. All hot meals are ordered at the kitchen entrance, made to order, and brought to your table. Coffee, juice, cereal, and other self-serve items are available at the serving tables. Please be patient when we are experiencing high volume! Volunteers may choose to not take any new orders after 8:45 a.m.
Breakfast on Us began in May 2015, and has grown from a humble vision of a free meal to serving over 10,000 breakfasts each year. All are welcome at BOU, and while there is a donation box for gifts to support church missions overall, Breakfast is always free! Breakfast on Us is a safe and inclusive space for all people; harassment and proselytizing are not permitted. Alcohol or drugs are not permitted on the premises.

Breakfast on Us is an entirely volunteer enterprise! Our volunteers come from United Community Church and beyond and work in teams together to make and serve nutritious and delicious breakfasts. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering for BOU, please come to breakfast on a weekday morning and experience it for yourself, and ask one of our volunteers for more information and to be in touch with our coordinator(s).

Menu: Our volunteers serve from a set menu and try to accomodate requests within that menu as best we can.
Monday: Omlettes, toast, sausage
Tuesday:
Pancakes (plain or blueberry) with VT maple syrup, sausage
Wednesday:
Breakfast sandwich, hashbrown
Thursday:
Omelette, toast, sausage
Friday:
French toast with VT maple syrup, eggs, sausage or bacon

Award-Winning Community Service
Breakfast on Us received the 2020 Marvin Award for Excellence in Community Service from the Lamoille County Planning Commission. Pastor Becca Girrell and Moderator David Bickford accepted the award on behalf of the church at the award ceremony in September 2021.
What to expect:
Now with more resources than ever!
Depending on the day of the week and the season of the year, you may encounter service providers from our community at Breakfast on Us. The Vermont Department of Health offers vaccines during the fall for people under 65. You may also find peer volunteers from North Central Vermont Recovery Center offering support and more information. Check out our donation table/area and our free clothing rack and take what you need.
Please enter the church via the ramp-side door, and enter the dining room directly ahead of you. A volunteer will assist you with your food requests, and you may enjoy your meal and the company of neighbors in the dining room.
We’re looking forward to seeing you, and sharing resources, hospitality, and food with one another!

More than just free food, Breakfast on Us is an opportunity to gather and be connected to others in the community.
